Incompetent (very white) leadership, scapegoating, complete lack of vision - Product VSCO Employee Review

Pros

Would have said the office, but now that we're remote, that doesn't really matter anymore

Cons

- Practically all-white leadership team - No internal mobility, career development, or growth - "Vision" is complete fluff and there's consistently zero roadmap or direction - Very hard to talk about real issues (culture does not promote safety or freedom of expression which is ironic for a "creative" company) - employees often experience retribution for speaking up - just went through a round of layoffs that practically everyone recognized as a major scapegoat (really, the company has been poorly managed for years and hired way too fast with no real strategy)

Thank you for this feedback. Admittedly, I hate hearing that this has been your experience at VSCO. Our team cares deeply about creating a positive experience for all of our employees and it’s evident that this has not been your reality. For that I am sorry. We put a lot of energy and intentionality into shaping our people programs to be fair and consistent, and lean heavily on feedback (both critical as well as understanding what's working) to drive our people strategies. We have multiple ways for our team to raise any feedback or concerns, including anonymously, so we can look into them and make adjustments as needed. I hope you will consider engaging in one of these channels or reach out to me directly so that we can remedy this situation and work to rebuild your trust. Regardless of the content of this review, I'm thankful for you taking the time to share your input and do take it seriously, so thank you.
