Pros
-Full Benefits offered to all employees -The campus is beautiful -Working with MOST of the student population is a dream come true
Cons
Administrators and supervisors really don't care AT ALL about their staff. The turn over rates over the years are staggering. There is a reason people are leaving at an increasing rate and it isn't just special education burn out. The staff feel mistreated and unsupported from the executive director on down. Staff are tired of being the scapegoat of the supervisors' mistakes. There are plenty of other places to work in the world of special education. They may provide full benefits, but starting a 1 to 1 at 16k a YEAR or a classroom aide who may even be a certified teacher at 19k? Disgusting. Want to be blamed for doing your job? Work here. Want your supervisors to blame you for their screw ups? Work here. Want to make a measly salary and be berated daily by students and staff? Work here. Want to maintain your sanity and be allowed to complete your job duties? RUN AWAY.
