Pros

I highly recommend Valley Strong CU as a great place to work. They have a great culture and care about their employees. I am impressed with the level of service they strive to provide to their membership. The management promotes based on performance and not tenure which is respected by most.

Cons

I could not think of anything that would fit in this category. The leaders in this organization have an open-door policy and are willing to listen and act on any recommendations and ideas from the front-line team.

Pros

Strong executive leadership: They have a clear vision and often brings forward great ideas that align with the credit unions mission. Team member appreciation: There is a genuine culture of appreciation. When a team member speaks up, their voices are heard and valued. Robust external opportunities: Credit union offers a wide range of opportunities and resources for both members and employees, including mentorship programs, community events, financial counseling, notary services and more all at their expense, As well as a partial reimbursement for school. Overall, a strong and healthy culture that makes it enjoyable to be around coworkers and even top leadership. I have felt welcomed and valued in every room I have been in at Valley Strong.

Cons

Weak Follow-Through: While the ideas and initiatives are great, the execution and long-term follow-through often fall short. Lack of Communication with Changes: There are frequent changes within the organization, but they are not always clearly communicated to team members, which can lead to confusion. Unclear Leadership Expectations: Leadership could improve transparency and consistency around expectations and the reasoning behind decisions, particularly during periods of transition or change.
