Pros

Pros: the people you work with were always some of the best and hardest working, though most of them have left the company at this point.

Cons

First off let's start with why did I work here so long if it was that bad? It used to not always be bad, but time changes things. The majority of my time at Valorem I was underpaid and overworked. This never was a huge deal to me at the time because I worked with really amazing people, and I was getting great experience. Then the company was bought out by a big umbrella corporation based out of Europe and things started to change. Not to mention all the executives got a nice payout, while all the peons who did all of the hard work received nothing. The original founders/owners left and were replaced by executive level leadership who are absolutely oblivious. As time went on, most of these amazing people left and one day I was wondering why am I still here? Being at my new company I realize now how bad Valorem was. I am much happier where I am at now, and all the people I have kept in touch with who left Valorem share the same sentiment. Currently the company outsources the majority of its work to Kochi resources which is fine, but they rely heavily on a few US employees to put in a lot of extra time to bridge the gap in communication and time differences so work can go on. Every year the company boasts about how the revenue has increased but at the same time people are working well over a normal workload and getting paid below market average in most cases. There is also more and more work being outsourced out of the US. The large core that held this company together have largely left and I wouldn't expect things to better anytime soon. Lastly HR was an absolute mess that you had to essentially call out over companywide communication just to get traction on your request. I'm sure they'll be some sort of response to my comments, but I can wager I worked at the company longer than the person responding to this. I also still know people who work at the company and things are not getting any better. There are a lot of jobs out there, but this is one you should avoid.

Pros

I really enjoyed working here. I was given lots of opportunity to drive improvement and own my business. Employees are empowered and trusted to deliver on their skill sets. Rewarding and challenging work for Microsoft and other clients. Comp was good and bonus. I liked leadership a lot.

Cons

Health insurance was a little expensive.

Pros

You'll meet some talented colleagues and get to work on a great deal of Microsoft projects.

Cons

Silent layoffs with colleagues disappearing without notice or explanation. Hours allocated to projects rarely reflect actual workload — employees are expected to juggle multiple client projects simultaneously with low allocation per project, tight timelines, and high quality standards to meet client expectations during presentations. Consistent pressure from leadership to be more cross-functional, take on additional responsibilities, and drive 100% renewal of existing client contracts. Many colleagues are based in Kochi, India, requiring employees to work extended hours or adjust their schedules to bridge the communication and time zone gap. Paid below market rate.
