Don't - Store Manager Valvoline Instant Oil Change Employee Review

Pros

My store manager (before I was promoted to manager) was incredible. Best manager I've had at any job. But he was also driven out by the company's choices. As a manager you can earn bonuses based on the store's performance.

Cons

Long hours, low pay, and very strict about how you work. I spent two years with this company. Started as a tech and worked my way up to Store Manager. There is opportunity to move up, but switching from Assistant Manager to Store Manager was a massive pay cut due to it being a salaried position, but still working 60+ hour weeks. I ended up leaving because they had all the store managers in the area work six days a week as a punishment for not meeting goals. As a tech, expect to be watched by your area manager at all time through cameras and micromanaged.

Pros

You start at a decent pay

Cons

I have been working almost constantly 6 day work weeks. Management won't check footage for proof of success but will check enough of the footage to accuse team members. In the same not they won't show the footage to you that they base their accusations off of. Corporate visits my location once a week at minimum and stands in the middle of our work space without consideration of our work flow or while wearing proper personal protective equipment. Then there is the constant promise of promotions without any fallow through; a tactic to keep us enduring the cons using false promises.
