Pros

Don't get me wrong, it's not that Varonis is a *bad* company. They offer decent health benefits (although it can be difficult I have heard, to find a doctor that takes United healthcare) and they offer other company benefits. I also can only speak to the Tech Support experience, which I will. Varonis is a great "foot in the door" kind of company. It's stellar that you need ZERO IT experience to get started in Tech Support there. In fact, they like people with retail or other customer support backgrounds. It's really great to see a company that doesn't force employees to have bachelors for a job that they wouldn't have used their degree for anyway. I would like to see more companies follow this example. And in my experience, the people are all good to work and everyone that I worked with in Tech Support was nice.

Cons

For cons, I have a few. The one that a lot of people call out is that pay is not spectacular. Again, speaking only from the TS point of view, $35000 (salaried per year) for an entry level job isn't horrible, but considering that I was usually working 45-hour work weeks for that, I was very unhappy. I have HEARD that the pay has been raised for Front Line Support, and when I left (after about a year and a half), I was making 40K. There are *very* rarely raises. You get promotions through TS from FLS to L2 to L3 and you can bounce around and try to be a Team lead or Manager, but to be honest, I think they're overworked too. There are no bonuses. There are no acknowledgements of your hard work unless you suck up to your manager. The most acknowledgement I got of doing my job well on top of doing a few other people's jobs was a heartfelt comment from my manager in an email on my very last day. And even then, I would have preferred a pay raise. You will be overworked in Tech support. I have heard it's easier for L2 and L3, but FLS I was constantly busy, micromanaged, and mentally strained. The hours are 9AM to 6PM and you will work later than 6PM. You get 13-14 days (can't remember) of PTO and that INCLUDES sick time. This is atrocious for any modern day tech company. The company lets you go negative into PTO, which I guess is nice, but then you must pay that out to the company if you terminate. If you get covid and need to take a week off, say goodbye to taking vacation this year. Also you will probably get covid, because the company enforces hybrid schedule with no flexibility. Don't want to come in? Then you are forced to take PTO or leave without pay. There have been multiple instances of individuals testing positive after coming into the office, and management still expecting people to come in after that (and also not notifying employees that someone had covid). The culture is very workaholic, as other reviews might have mentioned. This isn't necessarily a bad thing from person to person, but if you get overwhelmed easily, you will. There also isn't too much accountability and again, you can get really far if you just suck up to management. You can do twice as much work as your colleague and get promoted at the same time because Management likes them better. I could touch on the diversity and inclusion piece but there isn't much to say besides: it isn't there. The higher level teams are mostly comprised of men and you won't see that much color in the office (speaking from my experience). There also is the issue of feeling like the company does not care about you at all. In Tech Support, we are expected to drop everything for cases that have "big deals riding on them", which I get (the company has to make money somehow) but usually gives certain sales engineers the idea that they can talk to us like dogs. I'm not kidding. This has been brought up to TS managers before and change has not happened. I left the company in 2021 and have spoken to former coworkers to affirm that this has not changed. It is ultimately disappointing because I feel that Varonis could be a great company. But they value making the sale over employee wellbeing, and control (forcing people back in office) over employee health. The pay is okay if you can suffer through a year and a half of FLS, but the pay hasn't risen as inflation has. The thing is, I occasionally do recommend Varonis as a job to people who really want to "break into" tech, because it's okay if you can tough it out. But when I left the company I was frustrated and stagnant. I felt like I wasn't learning anything that would progress my career in the way I wanted, and I wasn't earning enough money to be satisfied with that.

Pros

Benefits are great, random gifts throughout the year, top notch team support

Cons

Company is so compartmentalized no one team has any idea of what is going on with another, which is specifically frustrating when it comes to pay/commission. They keep purchasing other companies without properly integrating into the existing product and have to basically re-invent how to use the full potential of said product to interact with what they already have, leaving a lot to be desired. Hiring new positions with specific goals in mind, but have the same title so are treated the same when it comes to OTE creating a substantial pay cut. Especially when they are brought in to make certain parts of the team and product better.
