Pros

Location but that's about it.

Cons

Veeam is a hiring and a firing factory. You are warned from day 1 about your probation period for a reason - it is very possible not to pass it. And even if you do, people are dismissed constantly in all offices around the world and most of the time it's not due to their professional competency or attitude but simply due to political decisions. Everyone, especially in management, smiles nicely but stab each other in the back the minute they turn away. There is zero trust, zero flexibility and zero support from HR. If you wish to develop and progress in this company, you have to be ready to try to make your boss happy BY ALL MEANS and it's quite sad to se senior people acting like Smeagols. There are also some people in this company who have been working for years and are very good at this game. It is a miracle whenever one of them is leaving. The company is diverse, but this doesn't mean that harassments, racism, misogyny or homophobia are not normality (e.g.: you commonly hear top management commenting about how good it is to visit this or that country because there are many beautiful young women there or making fun of others based on their nationality, casually, in front of HR and no one bats an eye). So if you REALY care for your career, stress levels and mental health, I would reconsider if I were you accepting their offer, regardless of how good it may be financially. In 90% of the cases, what was shared during the recruitment process is NOT the reality.

We're really glad to hear you're enjoying the work-life balance and that the caliber of your colleagues has been a standout - that's something we hear often and are proud of. Pros

- Friendly teammates that are willing to help

Cons

Where to begin? - Since starting at Veeam, the internal IT Support team has been cut to a THIRD of it's original size. From an original team of 10+ people, only 3 of the core team remain. Three USA members are left to support over 2,000+ USA employees and try to solve the flood of tickets that arrive in the ServiceDesk queue. - These last layoffs which I was a part of, 1 desktop support engineer, 1 support manager and myself were laid off. - My role was replaced by TWO other service desk analysts in Costa Rica that are getting paid pennies. Both of them combined make less than the salary I had. - Veeam is trying to cut costs anywhere they can, all while making record profits - Technology leadership doesn't listen to input from lower level management on pain points or suggestions on how to improve work-flow or help out the internal IT team - US-based IT employees never received any promotions. All employee promotions from the global IT team happened in Prague / Bucharest offices. - Absolutely no room for career advancement. Managers don't support growth. They silo you into a specific role and work you like a horse.
