Pros
-Good healthcare benefits -Smart, passionate people in individual contributor roles who do actually care
Cons
-Lots of first time managers who read a book on how to lead a team, but don’t have the EQ or experience to be a competent manager -NOT a tech company. Veho is patched together by ducktape. It is not a company that uses technology to solve problems and scale the business. Everything is brute force operations, and is completely unsustainable. -All talk when it comes to caring about drivers. In practice, drivers are exploited by the company as cheap labor, with high churn rates. The company’s primary objective is to protect claims against drivers becoming W2 employees. -Not forward thinking. No innovation on the horizon. If you ask the company how they think about new technology (AI), they wouldn’t have an answer. -Empty rhetoric of being a “human” company. Lots of ex-tech/consultant bros who brought a to toxic culture with them to Veho. -Using the framework of “Radical Candor” as a an excuse to have monthly performance reviews that aren’t tied to any form of comp increase. -Pie in the sky strategy. The company wants to be “a post-purchase” experience company, but really are just filling a niche as a meal-kit delivery company.
