Pros

Remote work and that is about it.

Cons

High call volume, Only 5 seconds between calls. No one knows anything. "Ask your supervisor" "My supervisor told me to ask you" "I can't help you". I have had that exact conversation way more times than I care to keep track of. After the United Healthcare CEO was "unalived" Velera put out a company memo saying we stand by our decision to use United Healthcare and trust they are the best for our employees. They also put out a company article saying Velera is voted one of the best employers for gen Z which sounds to me like what DOGE did. Employ the youngest possible generation, the people who are most exploitable, because they don't know better, Oh yeah, I asked for a new chair because the one they provided when I first started working there is falling apart and they said they don't provide any sort of office equipment for work from home employees. Another example of big companies pushing their costs on to us the employees/consumers. They don't provide internet assistance, utility assistance (electricity etc.), and now they won't even provide you with a chair to do your job. I asked my manager about reasonable accommodations and she said they don't do that. The company has begun investing (probably millions of dollars) into AI systems to police the contact center agents instead of taking that money and actually investing it into the employees. It all just goes to show the true nature of the company.

The organization serves thousands of financial institutions and plays a key role in areas like payments, fraud management, and digital banking. That mission-driven environment creates a feeling that your work truly matters. Velera promotes collaboration across teams and values innovation, which is reflected in its broad suite of services and ongoing efforts to modernize solutions for clients. There are also opportunities to learn new skills and grow professionally. Many teams demonstrate a supportive and flexible environment, with exposure to cross-functional initiatives and large-scale programs. This can be especially rewarding for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, evolving industry. One of the biggest advantages is the flexibility of a 100% remote work environment, which supports strong work-life balance and allows employees to collaborate effectively across locations. Velera also promotes teamwork and innovation, with opportunities to work on cross-functional initiatives and develop new skills in a rapidly evolving industry. There is a collaborative culture across many teams, and employees are often given opportunities to grow professionally while contributing to large-scale, impactful programs.

Cons

Like any large organization, processes and communication can occasionally be complex, especially as the company continues to evolve and integrate capabilities. As a result of the recent merger and organizational integration, there have been some challenges related to processes, communication, and alignment across teams. These are typical of large transformations but can impact day-to-day efficiency as the organization continues to stabilize.
