There was no bigger shock throughout the company than the promotion of Anna Georgiadis to Chief Human Resources Officer this year. This comes after one of the most abysmally run HR department in the company's history under her watch. The sheer turn over of employees and law suits are alarming and should be addressed by the Board of Directors. Also speaks volumes about the current CEO who promoted her during the midst of layoffs and termination. Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Of course the worst kept secret at the company is that Ms. Georgiadis received her Global HR position from her cousin and former CEO Dom Serafino. It was wrong to inflict this on this company and its employees given that Ms. Georgiadis had not seen the inside of a generalist HR department since 2004. At Loblaws she oversaw PC rewards/points/credit card, telecom and gift cards. It's easy to see why this CHRO confuses this company's employees for disposable and reloadable gift cards. It's taking a village to prop up her job. If only more time were spent by Ms. Georgiadis on workers' rights and compliance as she does with her usual trivial preoccupations or other self-serving needs.
