Pros

* The Oxford R&D team is great, with a knowledgeable team leader who is well-versed in biometrics. * There is no micromanagement, and you have full flexibility to approach problems from different perspectives. * You gain valuable insights into challenges in biometrics, especially around data privacy and security.

Cons

* Apart from the Oxford team, I had limited interaction with others in the company and had little knowledge about what the company was generally working on. * The company’s direction is unclear, and it still uses an old, complex, and non-scalable architecture. * There are no performance reviews or appraisals, making career progression ambiguous. * Benefits are limited to the base salary, with no additional perks.

Pros

The other departments know what they're doing. Most of the staff and managers are really great. The product is very good, easy to use and gaining customers fast. For an American the benefits are great (100% of medical!) and they pay well.

Cons

There's incredibly high turnover in the marketing department and with cause. Serious disorganization and micromanagement. No matter how much you do it isn't enough. Focus is always on the crisis of the moment. Lots of talk about long-term, strategic efforts but no support for it. At one point CEO had to come in from out of country to get CMO to stop screaming at people.
