Pros

There are some genuinely good and fun personalities that work there. You can make a lot of friends if you're in a department that allows you to talk. If you're young, single, or part time, you can get access to some good benefits. If the dental is still the same, it's actually one of the best dental plans I've ever had. You can rack up PTO. You get paid every 2 weeks. There is a nebulous annual bonus you could get if everything falls just right. There's the occasional party or contest or themed office day which breaks up the monotony. Most teams recognize birthdays and work anniversaries. There is some room to change teams/departments/roles. There's no official system for doing that, you just have to work hard, not complain, and let somebody know you exist and you want more. Nice office space in a good South Jordan location. There's. Cafe in the basement of one of the buildings. Decent computers and office furniture. Some other perks like discounted UTA passes, and tuition reimbursement (to some extent). There's enough work to keep you busy for a lifetime.

Cons

Please believe me when you read this. I have no vendetta against this company, nor any of the people who work there. I had some success there and worked with some good people along the way. This is my honest observation about Verisys. I have debated for YEARS about writing this review, and I feel it's the right thing to let people know what they're getting into. If you are a single, young student, this is an OK place to work if you don't mind being micromanaged. Believe me, you WILL be most likely be scrutinized, bullied, intimidated, and at some point and presented with "data" that is probably inaccurate and then let go. If that doesn't get you, the toxic, cancerous, gossiping culture will. The benefits change and decline each year. If you are single, or work part time, the benefits are actually good. If you have a family or work full time, the benefits are a joke. They're unaffordable. I saw many people have to opt for private insurance because they couldn't afford $500/mo for medical/dental. Getting reviews and raises changes all the time. There is no standard. There is no legitimate feedback system. There is favoritism that happens and there are managers who hold grudges. I sometimes got nice raises, I sometimes got meager raises. I sometimes got them every 6 months, I sometimes got them as far apart as 18 months. No consistency or system. If you are told otherwise or that things are different, it's a lie. The similar "system" applies to bonuses too. Verisys will never learn its lesson. It has a completely backwards methodology when it comes to serving its customers. There is so much technical debt, that this company has slowly dug its own grave. This is a company who is paralyzed when it comes to innovation, blind when it comes to proactively solving issues, and deaf when it comes to your opinion. Like my review title says, "the squeaky wheel gets replaced." I saw many people get fired because they had dissenting opinions that they expressed and they were labeled as a "troublemaker" then let go. As far as the work itself goes, they never say no to outrageous customer requests or deadlines. They constantly sell products and services that don't exist and squeeze their workforce to deliver under intense pressure. There are fundamental sales, marketing, technology, and operational problems that haven't been solved in years, and at this point, I'm not sure if they can even be fixed without just starting a new company from scratch. It's truly a rollercoaster when it comes to doing business. There are MAJOR communication issues across every team in the company. Priorities constantly change, plans get scrapped, projects rarely get completed, all because the "leadership" has ZERO vision, no mission statement, no stated company values. It's a rudderless boat with a lot of big egos fighting over the oar. If you still don't believe me, go play a game of "spot the typo" on the company's webpage. That's just a small example of poor communication and problems never getting resolved. If you are a software developer, I would advise you to run away as fast as you can. You can get some experience here, bit it will come at the cost of trying to please brain-dead, stubborn, ignorant stakeholders both inside and outside the company.

Pros

The people I worked with were awesome and the company itself seems to value coworker interaction.

Cons

When I was there, my hourly wage was ridiculously low and I had a 60 day bonus of 0.11 cents, which was wild.

Pros

In my department, we had very flexible schedules and were not terribly micromanaged. You get lots of PTO and holidays, and the benefits package is pretty good.

Cons

Lack of transparency, and downright lies from upper management. The pay is severely lacking for the work you do if you aren't in a role that gives incentive bonus. All levels of management are secretive and will stab you in the back if it will benefit them. There is not much team development or work culture with almost everyone working remotely.
