Entry Level BHT - BHT-behavioral Health Tech Veritas Collaborative Employee Review

Pros

The location is very convenient, and they offer adequate health insurance and other benefits. The majority of employees care about their jobs in this field and aspire to become even better.

Cons

The building has many technical downsides to operating as a secure mental hospital making it difficult to keep patients safe. Their policy on technological use for underage pts is illogical and problematic, to say the least. Scheduled use of personal phones aka handheld computers by patients negates the teachings of this hospital at large. This location is understaffed making it nearly impossible to operate on a normal schedule. A minority of employees appear burnt out on working in this field, which is a very challenging job, but they have lost sight of why they show up to work, aside from a paycheck.

Cons

Very long 12 hour shifts. Higher level of acuity. Working every other weekend is required.

Pros

The work itself is very rewarding when I'm involved in patient care. I enjoy many of my colleagues who are roles at the same level I am (the other dietitians and therapists). It's a good learning experience, seems like working in inpatient or residential is required to get a foot in the door in outpatient. I enjoy working with adults vs. adolescents so the patient population is ideal. From what I hear, the "merge" with the Emily Program was a very positive thing because it sounds like they saved Veritas from being a sinking ship.

Cons

Management is belittling all around. It's the norm for my supervisor to talk poorly about other dietitians to me, so I know that's how she's talking about me to others. Inconsistency is the norm - sometimes I feel like I'm doing well and I'm on good terms with the company and then all of sudden I feel like I'm not. They definitely have a pattern of nit-picking but also expecting you to understand how to do everything from day 1 before you really get the chance to "drink the Veritas juice."
