Pros
The people I work with day in and day out really want to do great things and they want to support you in any way they can. OK pay, decent healthcare (though it is becoming more expensive every year....spousal penalty if they have access to their own healthcare???).
Cons
Apparently, discarded Oracle managers is the flavor of the year. So, so many "leaders" from that company and they have brought with them chaos and a toxic mindset. There is little consideration for employees. Constant downsizing/RIFs. Those of us who've been around for a while long for the return of sensibility....or a severance package. Company culture is gone after the split with Symantec. Far too few resources to get any job done right. I'm thoroughly confused about those who write about a good work/life balance. The expectation is rapid response, regardless of time zones and holidays. I have repeatedly been asked to work on holidays as well as during vacations. Key leadership positions are filled from the outside for the most part. Being under the Carlyle umbrella has only made things worse.
