Pros
Veritas actually has a fairly compelling product portfolio and has significantly closed the gap on cloud functionality. It is still a market leading company as well in the backup space, however they are being challenged by new companies like Rubrik, Veeam, and Cohesity, not to mention the traditional players like Commvault, EMC, and IBM.
Cons
It’s tough to say that the culture is not good because there really is no culture other thank a culture of working towards some kind of exit at any cost (IPO, acquisition, etc.). There is no heart or soul to the company and senior leadership do not value employees and their contributions at all. In the last year I worked there I didn’t receive a single positive complement or any positive recognition. Managers are constantly asked to stack teams to make it easier to RIF people which happens quite often. Last, I was publicly humiliated multiple times and received zero support from business partners (operations, finance, etc.). It is a true shame as this company had a lot of promise at one point and used to be a fun place to works, but those days are long gone.
