Pros

Only pro is the immediate clinical team

Cons

Run businesses into the ground. Wants the team to compromise patient safety and staff comfortability just to cram more patients in. I now dread every day of work and often have breakdowns before shifts due to the upper management (HR, RM, GM) not listening to, or actioning concerns the team has brought forward. Clinics running on minimal staffing (not even enough to cover a working week) and clients taking it out on the immediate team for not having consistency in staff or warnings for randomly closed days in the week Have multiple clinics classed together as a “pod” (sister clinics) and always comparing them between each other, feels like they are trying to intentionally cause a rift between clinic staff to (once again!) drive them to out earn, and compete with each other Refuses pay rises if your clinic isn’t earning enough money to their standards Has absolutely no clue how to run a veterinary business and look after its staff, patients, and clients. There are SO many other cons- but these are the main ones that are causing huge emotional distress to your staff.

Pros

- staff discounts - some CPD allowance (if you can get in)

Cons

- Toxic, out-of-touch management that trickles all the way down - Greed. Ever since the purchase by private equity the name of the game is KPIs to maximise profit which will be twisted and used to deny pay rises - Terrible pay. Significantly lower than other corporates like Greencross, Apiam, and even independents. This is a huge multinational company with billionaire investors but can't cough up $1/ph pay rises - High turnover. The only people they're attracting is the inexperienced trying to get their foot in the door, and international graduates who need visa sponsorship. Meanwhile, there's an outward brain drain of experience to competitors. VP can't even run training courses without contracting external clinicians because there's no in-network specialists anymore, resulting in substandard care - The clinical directors are dinosaurs. Don't join if you want to upskill or practise good medicine. VP has no interest in your career development and is copying the Our Vet and EBGames business model: push subscriptions and overpriced product at the expense of clinical excellence. New grads are better off going to Greencross with a structured training program
