Pros
-Much stronger work/life balance than anything else you'll find in music or tech, 10/10 -Some very nice people at all levels of the company, a few good senior leaders -Good workplace if you don't care about growth -Nice snacks provided -Good health benefits and PTO
Cons
-A few people near the top are mediocre to bad at their jobs. The way some of these people seem to be propped up, promoted, and given power...is baffling. -They seem to care less about performance (or what knowledge you bring) and more about how long you've been at Vevo. There's not much respect for the work you've done outside of Vevo and no one really listens to ideas or suggestions that people may bring from previous work. -While a lot of people are nice as individuals, there's poor communication between departments, and for such a small company - a lot of people don't know each other. The culture is disconnected and lacking. -Not a lot of direction or innovation. -The performance review cycle is frequent, but kind of pointless. You just have the same circular conversation over and over. -Too many pointless touch base meetings. -Favorites are definitely played, and these people are excused when their performance is lacking. -Some senior leaders are very checked out, while others are micromanagers who don't let the capable people under them handle things themselves (creating teams who don't know how to make decisions or lead, are afraid to actually make decisions because they've never had to, aren't expected to, and would rather CYA than actually contribute). -Uneven standards and expectations in terms of schedule flexibility/WFH for some people vs. others - depending on department, years at vevo, commute time, parenting duties, etc. which can be unfair and doesn't foster the best community or feelings.
