Pros

You can learn a lot, really quickly. You're expected to hit the ground running and no one will be there to guide you, the job can be what you make of it. Smart and kind coworkers. Cool product and great mission.

Cons

The company doesn't care about its employees at all. Turnover is extremely high, and management refuses to change anything despite feedback. Via spends an exorbitant amount of resources on hiring but does nothing about retention. If anything, loyalty feels disincentivized. Compensation is way below market price, and the constant pitch "we reward hard work when we see it" is just a nice way to phrase that there's no promotion or raise processes. Most people wait and fight for up to a year before getting burned out. The only thing you will be rewarded with is more work from people who have left. Senior management decisions and the politics of this company are questionable (announcing acquisitions while raises have been put on pause for months), and good luck if you have any concerns you want to bring to HR as it's run by three close friends. No company culture, ERGs or any work sponsored event seem to be employee driven. Via takes advantage of employees' emotional labor. Also, lack of diversity, there's only three POC in any senior positions. HR addressed this during the interview process as "we're working on it", but have yet to see any effort.

Pros

Incredibly supportive management. Extremely healthy work environment. Company culture is top notch. Benefits are well above market average. Using PTO is encouraged, and when on PTO general duties are handled by supportive coworkers.

Cons

Extremely fast-paced environment. Real-time issues can arise, and can be stressful to resolve. Remote work can feel isolating, however, managers and coworkers are extremely easy to reach.

Pros

Very nice vehicles to drive, hourly pay is good, they pay for gas, maintenance, etc... well you actually pay it through renting the car from them, but you still make great pay even after. I enjoyed doing the job very much. I only gave it 4 stars on Compensation, because there are zero benefits. No medical, no PTO, nothing. But you do make a good take home.

Cons

Getting hours is ridiculous. Hours dropped at like 3 or 4pm and it was a feeding frenzy to get any hours, not just hours you preferred, but any. Went many weeks with only one or 2 short shifts because I was actually driving when the shifts dropped and when I was free after the ride to schedule, everything was gone. Very tough to try to maintain any type of schedule for your life and many times make a steady income. Many good employees left because they couldn't get hours. I hung on for as long as I could, but the inconsistency of the schedule and the possibility of not getting enough shifts was too much. Their driver resources were not very good either. Contacting them for any issues, like getting into your car to drive, passenger issues, etc... was very poor. Issues were not handled in a timely manner to the situation. My last straw was when I went to pick up a client, showed up waited the proper time, tried calling, knocked on door...nothing. Reported it to the driver support line as a no-show. Customer called and said I never showed up. I literally had a picture of their front-door time stamped on my phone. The next day I receive and email that because I refused to pick someone up that I could be dis-associated from the Via platform. I was not a bad worker, literally won Driver of the Month and helped transition the entire fleet to a new facility.
