Pros

this was a really fun, rewarding, challenging place to work... was.

Cons

I believe that the leadership is now openly hostile to the employees in general. I believe this because of the recent benefits change. On 2/27 they announced that new benefits plans would be available, and that all employees needed to elect through open enrollment. Open enrollment opened on 3/11 and closed on 3/20. A total of four emails were sent out indicating that this change was occurring. Of the 4, only one had any mention of mandatory elections above the fold (1st page of the email). None had any mention of it in bold, large text, or otherwise noticeable. Basically the only notes about needing to re-enroll were in the fine-print. Pretty sure 5-10% of the employees just lost their insurance today.

Thank you for the review. We are truly committed to listening to employee feedback and making the changes we need to make to ensure our employees have opportunities to learn and grow with Viasat. With the increasing cost of medical care and the goal of offering our employees and their families affordable and quality care, we added a third plan this year to bring employees a less expensive option. Because of this, employees were asked to re-enroll so they could consider all the options. Additionally, to make sure all employees are aware of the changes, we’ve followed up individually with employees who haven’t taken action in their accounts.

There is freedom to approach each project as you see fit. Strong support from senior leadership.

Cons

When several programs peak at the same time the hours start to creep up pretty quickly.

Pros

Great company to work that is cash flow positive, thinks long-term, cares about people. Lots of autonomy

Cons

internal data silos, lack of uniform internal guidelines result in folks reinventing the wheel.
