Pros

Contracting or consulting has a bad tone in the US, but Vincit is doing it great. We have interesting projects varying from startups to larger enterprises, like Logitech and The New York Times. Some projects last a couple of months, while others span several years. People are great, and the company has done an excellent job finding exceptional talents. You can truly trust that your colleagues are giving their best, and they are eager to learn. There are also a variety of free-time activities, such as dinners with colleagues, volleyball, and ski trips, for those who are interested. I see the company as a great place to grow, especially for junior and mid-level developers. Vincit is a software agency, and all the money comes from invoicing, so there is a limit to how much they can pay. Salaries are competitive compared to other software agencies, but they may not match what you could get in big tech companies as a senior. The benefits are good, and my favorite is Boon, which provides coaching sessions with professionals twice a month. The tech stack in US projects usually involves TypeScript, React/React Native, Next.js, and AWS. However, some projects use technologies like Java, Vue, Golang, and Swift (iOS). I see Vincit US's values as transparency, honesty, and a good work-life balance. These are values that the leadership also acknowledges and upholds even during challenging times.

Cons

The company is undergoing significant changes in Europe and the US, and the trip might be bumpy.

Pros

-Flexible hours so I can run errands or take breaks when I want, good work-life balance not really needing to work overtime. -I can WFH or go into office whenever I want. -I actually feel respected as a human being and valued for the work I do, rather than just feeling like a number. -Management actually cares to listens when I share any concerns & feedback. -I’ve been given a lot of room to introduce new ideas and run with them and it’s actually encouraged by our leadership team. -I get to work on things I like and incorporate my personality so I feel happy about my work. -People here are amazing to work with. Everyone is incredibly smart, innovative, kind, and helpful. I learn so much from everyone here. They are always willing to work together to help you find solutions and I don’t feel nervous to ask any questions. -Everyone is super respectful and welcoming. They always make sure to show their appreciation for one another. -It’s nice to see a management team that actually deeply cares about the team. Even in difficult times, they still make sure to consider people-first in their decision making. -Lots of hobby groups! -Cool to have a global team to work with.

Cons

-Since it’s a newer company, growth tracks are not the most clear so it might take a little bit of initiative on your part to continue to find areas to grow more in. -Past year has been rocky as with all other tech companies so that has been a bit stressful. However, I appreciate the transparency in the communication and the reasonings behind decisions. -Pay not as high as product companies due to needing to maintain a proper margin between billable rates and salaries in agency setting. -Formal structures still in the process of being built out. -Sometimes you might be asked to help in other tasks outside your job description, but at least they’re respectful in making sure you’re comfortable and not overwhelmed or working overtime. Work life balance is still a priority.

Pros

Great coworkers that genuinely care and are helpful

Cons

The work model makes it hard to live up to the good intentions set. It's easy to take care of your employees when times are good but when times are bad, it's all about retaining clients, even the borderline abusive ones.
