Pros
Wonderful people and strong sense of community across campus. Beautiful work environment and you receive nice benefits as a full time employee. Professional development is also strongly encouraged and widely available.
Cons
Opportunities for advancement within your own department are rare. Raises are also rare and modest (usually just a cost of living increase). Also, regularly worked 60 to even 70 hr/wk for a few years before I received full time assistance, though time off was flexible (but only when we weren't busy, which was almost always).
