Pros
I'm sure it varies widely depending on the unit and team you work on, but mine was full of creative and supportive people who are good at what they do. Plus, state employees get good benefits.
Cons
The university as a whole is enormous and it can sometime be challenging to know who is responsible for one thing or another.
