Pros

The best reason to work for Vision are definitely the people that work there; seriously, a bunch of cool people are here, and everyone is working hard to deliver the best product possible. This is a very casual work environment (by that I mean dress) and it seems like most teams try to be flexible to accomodate each employee. I’ve worked here 2.5 years (Glassdoor doesn’t have a 2 - 3 year selection option, strangely enough) and in that time, the company was invested in by an outside company; while a lot of employees were skeptical at first, the administration that was brought in really helped refine the processes and build up the strength of the core business in not time at all. The senior management really does have a (cough) vision for how to move this company forward, and they’re eager to hear your feedback as a valued employee. I would say the other big strength of working for Vision is that you will learn a ton, especially if this is your first foray into the tech world. I will honestly say I learn something new everyday here, even a couple years in, and if that's what you want to do — this could be a great fit for you. The company is moving to a nicer facility later this year in El Segundo, so the parking should be plentiful and they’re looking to upgrade all their furniture for this move.

Cons

This company is pretty light on benefits; if your an Account Manager, your salary is probably on the low end of the spectrum, and as of right now, there are no 401(k) options. I understand this position (and the benefits associated) may be evolving this year. Also, this is not one of those cool “Silicon Beach” companies where everyone has a Mac computer (they’re very much a Windows shop, but you may be able to request a Mac), where you can go hangout in a “chill lounge” and play ping pong, and they don’t do company getaways or things like that. It’s a pretty straight-forward tech job.

Pros

Life inside the developers/programming team is the bomb. This particular team has come a long way and created a culture comparable to that of a start up. Perhaps a good place to start for a first job but not for the long run.

Cons

I'll be honest. Programmers and software engineers are at the bottom of food chain for this company. Kind of backwards when you compare that to any other company in the tech industry. Lower than standard pay. Expect long hours (at least 50 per week) and no "tangible" benefits or acknowledgement from the company if you're a programmer/coder other than a pat in the back. Note: programmers are one of the only ones that don't share in the profits in forms of bonuses or compensation for milestones being smashed, company goals being met. Think about it when you analyze how much real effort/brain power goes into a project. Project = 5% Sales + 15% Design + 20% Client management + 60% Coding (at least 60%). Work life balance is also off for those in the coding/programming teams as well as most programmers stay late and work for "free" under pressure to finish projects
