Pros

Vitamix manufacturers the greatest blending equipment, hands down. It's rewarding to see how this product has changed lives, and the passionate fan base is testament to that.

Cons

The company isn't what it used to be. When I first started, Vitamix was experiencing rapid growth; everyone wanted to work for Vitamix and it was considered one of the best, fastest-growing companies in the greater Cleveland area. Hundreds of employees were hired, there was profit sharing, free lunch every Wednesday, and tons of perks, including very generous gift cards given out for achieving milestones within the business. Now that competition is making moves, sales have plateaued; this was to be expected, but I also believe it's a result of a toxic work environment. I soon became aware of how much corporate politics plays into business decisions. Management handles situations very poorly; I've seen firsthand people in upper management who cannot (and will not) handle conflict and therefore nothing gets resolved. Every company meeting is like a dog and pony show; it's (literally) a lot of "hoorah-ing" and empty promises and forced family fun. Problems are never addressed because executives are living in a bubble where everything is sunshine and rainbows. Or, if they are aware of the low morale within the organization, they're doing little to fix it. In the past few months alone I've seen so many talented people leave the company. It feels as if you're not somehow related to the family that runs the show (as it's a family-owned biz), your opinions aren't as valuable. I've seen people work tirelessly to make significant changes and their ideas were dismissed. It's no longer a great place to work, unfortunately.
