Some of the job coaches are exceptional at their jobs. Several of the clients are very easy to work with and some are genuinely happy you're there to help them.
Cons
The environment can be unnecessarily chaotic due to spontaneous changes in clients being reassigned to different job coaches leading to behaviors among the clients that can include physical attacks on employees and self harming behaviors for clients. There aren't enough drivers or handicap accessible vans for wheelchair bound clients to go out into the community on a regular basis. There is favoritism between case managers and job coaches which is disheartening and can make the job harder than it needs to be. The pay is $17 an hour and the benefits don't kick in until 3 month after employment; same for the reimbursement of livescan, drug testing and background check which you have to initially pay out of pocket for.
