Pros

Lax work environment. Friendly co-workers Good benefit package for healthcare, etc.

Cons

Feckless management in Aftermarket Engineering (AMT) - they don't care about developing you as an employee, they're just in AMT to build their resume and get the next position. You'd better know how to work at Volvo already, and understand their internal processes and idiosyncratic systems, because their idea of training is to throw you into the pool with a cement vest on. Then your manager will hold you accountable for any mistakes made because you didn't know what you were supposed to do. HR consistently ignores employees unless they want something. Vacation is structured according to company dictates; 2-2 1/2 weeks of your vacation timing is dictated by the company holiday schedule. Sick time also comes out of vacation, so while it sounds like a lot up front, you don't get scheduling flexibility, so you'll end up with about a 2 weeks that are actually yours to schedule, and don't get sick!

Pros

Really inclusive environment and most of campus is already with ABW - activity based workplace (flexible seating).

Cons

Sometimes due to the very inclusive environment, decisions can take a little longer.

Pros

Great team of colleagues. Employee who are focused on ensuring their best. Excellent collaboration between teams. Colleagues who will look past the negative culture and continue to do their best for the company.

Cons

Culture & HR team who are clueless about global teams and work strategies. Focus on how many days and hours are spent in the office, rather than quality of work delivered. "You are being tracked by HR" has become the new way of life with the new culture. Total lack of communication after announcing job cuts are coming, due to awful truck sales and loss of market share in USA. Heavily bloated VP structure.
