Pros

The retirement is really good.

Cons

You will die before you see your retirement. GMs get zero respect, are micromanaged, and have unrealistic standards thrust upon them by completely out of touch area managers, and corporate mouth breathers who have no idea how their stores actually operate. You're expected to be on the clock 24 hours a day, and to cover any shift that needs it. Rain, shine, snow, blizzards, hurricanes - these stores never close, your employees will contact you at all hours of the day or night, whether you are on vacation or not, whether you set boundaries or not.

Pros

I started working at age 21 while attending school. I initially came here for a part time job but quickly realized that the company's culture, opportunity for growth, and development programs are amazing. In the last 17 years I have grown from an part time associate all the way to an Area Manager leading 12 stores and over 500 people. Wawa is a values based company and truly lives these values everyday. We pride ourselves on being servant leaders while also delivering industry leading results. Someone entering our leadership pipeline can expect: - a culture based on strong values - a clear path of career progression in the Operations Pipeline - A manager focused on helping you grow and develop - Great benefits including an ESOP. - excellent leadership and business acumen training

Cons

As with all retail jobs the operations positions can involve working nights, weekends, and holiday. However, this is very manageable with our scheduling standards and communication.
