Pros
Dynamic workplace with true reach - very few Canadian companies, let alone nonprofits, have the scale and reputation of Free The Children with a relatively small staff
Hard work, a lot of learning by doing - not unlike a startup.
Growing larger without becoming overly bureaucratic - opportunity for proactive, creative individuals.
Cons
Can be demanding, but not nearly to the extent of some of the reviews on here. I have many friends and colleagues in nonprofit and the private sector, and the hours at FTC are certainly on par with any job where people are highly motivated.
Process is lacking throughout, those who prefer structure and some degree of predictability or specialization will have a hard time here.
