Pros

Generous PTO, Work from Home, Company Car, Company Phone, 401K w decent match, medical, dental.

Cons

WEX is a house of cards. A rudderless ship with little leadership, accountability or effective communication. WEX has been blowing smoke up everyone's you know what to their employees, customers and stockholders for years. The management there, by in large, is constantly talking out of both sides of their mouths, from the top down. They tout that they will always promote internally, but more often than not, they hire external candidates. Many of the middle managers, and the directors, never did the actual job of the people that they are managing. Some managers have never even been in the industry before they got the job. All of this creates a major disconnect. You'll get lip service that there are resources to help you advance your career, but again, those are just words, with no action. Nobody will take an active role in helping your career path; not your manager, nor anyone else internally. Why do you think you see very little people actually retire from WEX? They just get fed up and move on, finding a better job some place else. From outsourcing customer service, to constantly making directionless reorganizational changes, to hopping from project to project without any real plan or execution, to poor internal and external “double talk” communication, its been a downward spiral for years. The customers have had enough, and the employees have stopped caring. Confident in the company and its leadership has dwindled drastically, and both customers & their employees are leaving in droves. The stock price drop is a direct result of all of this.

Pros

PTO, 401k match, remote work, the people.

Cons

Constant pressure to prove you’re using AI, do more with less culture, consistent layoffs and reorgs, poor communication, unclear direction, unrealistic goals all for a 2% raise. Zero chance for advancement.
