Pros

- The people are great. The people I interacted with on a daily basis were always pleasant. Of course there's the few office grouches, but where isn't there? - I learned more in my years here than I ever did in college. The experience and knowledge I gained here is truly priceless, and as whatever comes after TV emerges, I feel confident in my ability to adapt. - My direct bosses during my time here were all incredibly supportive. They taught me new skills, encouraged me to try new things and explore new ideas, and they showed my that I certainly have it in me to succeed in this industry.

Cons

- They say it's just where the business is these days, but corporate continued to squeeze the juice out of us. When I started, the team I was on had several people. As each person left, corporate froze those positions and never opened them back up during my time there. This was not just happening in my department, but throughout the company. Then we got the announcement that non-contract employees would not be getting their merit-based raises. Then layoffs began. Some people did not know they were laid off until they tried to scan their ID to get in and it didn't work... As of now, CMG is owned by Apollo - an investment firm that clearly has no idea what running a media conglomerate entails. They are a house-flipper looking to squeeze the company dry and attempt to sell it for profit. - As my department lost workers, I had to take on their responsibilities. First, our manager left. Corporate decided we didn't need one...so my three remaining co-workers and I took on the extra responsibilities, but it became clear that I was seen as the new de-facto manager...without the manager pay or benefits. Then another producer left. That position is a full time job already. It was yet another thing myself and my remaining few co workers had to balance on our very full plates. I pushed for raises, I pushed for the manager position to open back up, and it even came to the point where I had to simply ask our department head for a lighter load. To which their response was, "Well, no one is clocking a lot of overtime, so you guys seem to be handling everything fine." It was obvious our department head was also jaded as they were now practically paying us to job hunt and turn in half-hearted productions as morale plummeted throughout the building and the whole company. - After the canceled raises announcement our quarterly staff meetings were always cancelled days before they were supposed to take place with no explanation. Closing off any public channels for communication between management/corporate and us underlings.
