Design team is talented, has good taste, and executes great ideas

I remember at a stand up meeting the owner stated that she's noticing people have been working 60-70 hour work weeks and this is because they're not giving 100% effort during their normal 40 hour work week. I was dumbfounded. People work hard, work late every day, and are constantly stressed out. Managers are under so much stress that they stress out their teams. It doesn't matter how clear I made it on certain days that I needed to leave the office at 5 due to other appointments--management would pressure me to stay because they're so overwhelmed and prioritize clients over everything and everyone. There's no organized design system in place, which made it even more stressful to get things done efficiently and quickly. You rarely get praised for the good work you do. You're just expected to do better. I didn't realize how miserable I was until I left.
