Pros
- there is a lot to learn about TV technology here - lots of interesting work to do - cheerful work environment - profitable business - it is owned by a bigger German company (WISI Group) that gives it fiscal security and global reach - you work to serve global markets and learn a lot about them - every year there is an "All Hands" conference which is lots of fun to organize and be a part of
Cons
- poor job security: this is for a couple of reasons (i) In an effort to sustain a collection of great people, management continually evaluate employees. If you are perceived to be "off" in any way, you may be fired and it will make no sense to you. So every so often, you will hear of someone being given the sack (hopefully not me!). I suppose this is the kind of intrigue you find in small companies. So if you work here, perception management & sustaining good working relationships is crucial! (ii) The cable tv industry is changing as people cut cable and stream content. This hurts Inca's main business line. So who knows what will happen? Good news is that Inca is constantly trying to keep up with the market changes. - poor benefits compared to big companies - the office is hard to access via public transit
