Pros
Not much if any! You get paid I guess.
Cons
Shift work but the shifts and how the roster is set up is awful. 12-hour day shifts on the weekend whilst lone working. No support from seniors. No regard for well-being. Prepared to work 14 days straight. There's on call week if you're unlucky to work the full length you'll end up working for 14 days straight. Communication from other departments to the OCC is non-existent. A constant increase in workload and tasks without any training or walkthrough or even a discussion of how we should implement it or if we can implement it. Just gets handed to our manager who is a yes man. They love yes men/women. It was a nice place to work until our OC manager get fired because he said no to some extra tasks that were heading our way. Now it's gone downhill. They never replaced him and then just used one of the site managers. Who was useless! Told us we couldn't take any holidays over Christmas, and he ended up taking 11 days off as well as all the other staff in the company. Was only the OC on the shift in the entire company. God knows what would have happened if there was an emergency or an issue with the OC. Poor Then an email will get sent. No meeting or anything. Considering OCC staff get 100s of emails a day, it's highly likely it'll get missed if you've been on days off. The higher management doesn't like any resistance. Even if it's safety-related. They'll constantly call you out on something but if you call them out, radio silence! No career opportunity - low pay. Lowest in the whole industry. Horrible culture Recruitment is shocking! They moan at us for working from home then employ 4 new OCC staff in Ireland. One guy who has been there for over a year still hasn't a clue what to do half the time. Unprofessional. So much more to list! DO NOT WORK HERE! IT'S A SINKING SHIP
