Pharmageddon - It's All True - Pharmacist Walgreens Pharmacy Employee Review

Pros

The people I work with are absolutely amazing! I came from a pharmacy team where I thought that it couldn't get any better, but it did. I can't comment on other Walgreens stores, but my store has great techs, a great Rx manager, a fantastic store manager, and finally a fabulous district manager. However, this seems to be the only pro, and other stores may not have such a cohesive pharmacy team.

Cons

Everything else about Walgreens is downright negative. Pharmageddon is real, as is overwhelming workload, constant interruptions, 12 hour days, and only a 30 minute lunch. Walgreens forums, like Reddit, constantly have reviews of burn-out, mental health issues and a higher than average pharmacist suicide rate. I am currently looking for a way out of this hell hole before I have a mental crisis of my own. If you, for some stupid reason, seek a job at Walgreens then start an antidepressant a month before your start date. It just might save your life!

Pros

Nice for part time If you want more hours, they'll definitely try to give it to you nice range of experience that can be helpful if you want to go into the pharmaceutical industry, good retail experience, HIPAA, attention-to-detail is great in this role, future cashier/retail jobs

Cons

SO busy at time/rushes Angry/frustrated patients (understandable yet still can be emotionally costing) many ongoing tasks at once if you have a good rhythm and team bond, it's good, if not, it's a very hard position to work without a nice team
