Pros
Government benefits, many paid holidays throughout the year, 35 hour work weeks, steady schedule with only 1 night a week required, not labor intensive, mostly desk work. Work/life balance okay if you're lucky enough to not take work home.
Cons
Little or no direction from supervisor, must be a self starter or nothing will get done. Civil service means no one can get fired, but that means horrible workers stay forever until they can collect their pensions and leave. Occassionally hostile work environment. No advancement past 15-20$ an hour.
