Nice Buildings, decent pay & benefits, professional training is compensated.
Cons
Management and supervisors, for the most part, do not seem to care about employees or clients. For this reason, turnover and shuffling between positions is high, but this is not acknowledged as a problem. Moral often low. Staff only care about what is their own best interest to survive. Lots of conflict between staff, between "teams", departments, outside agencies. Department heads, County administrators, County Board covers up these problems. Some amount of wasteful spending hiring very high paid "planners." Not inclusive or diverse as it claims to be. Lots of hype. Staff overall not valued, contrary to claims made in PR efforts to recruit.
