Pros

- Junior staff are lovely, talented people/leaders - Great volunteers and interns who care deeply about the organization and cause, and make event days enjoyable

Cons

- Management team is incredibly disorganized and prevents the organization from reaching it's potential - Some members of the management team are misogynistic - Employees are treated unfairly when it comes to compensation, overtime, and benefits, and no opportunity is given for growth within the organization - The ideas, needs, and opinions of employees are rarely considered by the management team - Individuals are given the work load of two or three people - Event days are 22 hours long and staff are expected do heavy lifting regardless of capabilities. Some procedures for event set-up are dangerous. Injuries happen often. - WaterFire claims to care about the community in which it finds itself, and says it helps "underserved people" in order to procure grant money. However, no outreach is done into the community (specifically the Olneyville neighborhood where the office is located) and the events that happen within the WaterFire Arts Center are geared towards generating revenue and pleasing wealthy, white donors.
