Pros

Fun. Fun. And lots of hard, meaningful work. They give you goals, and you figure out ways to achieve them. The people here are so smart and so kind; I've had lunch with a different employee every week, and I've never been told a flat out no. And when I needed help on something, everyone was willing to help at least at some point in the future. It totally changed my career goals: Waterfall made me realize that the startup workplace is something I love and I wish to pursue it in the future. And it doesn't hurt that they are generous enough spend tons of money on culture, which makes coming to work exciting and fun.

Cons

This is a startup. They don't have everything figured out. For example, the person working on a project that I was involved with left. There was no concrete transition plan and it took a bit of effort to try and coordinate where the necessary resources were located. That being said, the process went by smoothly. Don't expect to come here and have only your work laid out for you. It's a startup, and that means that you are going to have to take care of things outside of your job description for the best interest of the company. Personally, I think dealing with that kind of challenge helped me grow immensely as a person and as an employee.

Great company to work for with lots of great folks.

Cons

As with many companies that are bought out by a larger firm, culture of the company changed.

Pros

I worked as an engineering intern, and in my short time there, I learned more than I have from any other employer. It is not just that the engineering team is elite and driven (though my engineering skillset was surely honed); Waterfall has done an amazing job hiring and maintaining the brightest, most self-actualized employees I have ever had the pleasure of working with. As a result, the culture at Waterfall is unlike any I have ever seen, and has served as a powerful metric by which I've been able to examine other corporate cultures. What is more, management has done an amazing job ensuring there is strong interdepartmenal communication. As a result, every employee knows the scope and vision of their work, and is aware of how their efforts contribute to the company's mission. As the company grows, this aspect will allow them to scale gracefully, and meet all new challenges. Finally, and this is essentially encapsulated in the first para, but deserves its own blurb, Waterfallers know how to have fun. It is very much a work-hard play-hard atmosphere, and this aspect of the company allows for strong relationships to be built both inside and outside of the workplace. As is evidenced by the many other reviews on this page, the culture at Waterfall is truly something unique

Cons

There are two main offices (SF vs Austin) and depending on your role, you may report to someone a timezone or two away.
