Pros

I worked with a great team of pcc, techs, nurses & docs and some admin staff.

Cons

So many cons about working at Wave for the last 8 months in the clinic with patients. Here are 5 of my honest opinions: 1) Management has installed video & audio surveillance cameras everywhere in the LA office - EVERYWHERE, like it's a bank vault!. I visited the other Wave locations and it's the same thing. This is strange, but it's their business - the problem became that I learned that they secretly record meetings and conversations with employees WITHOUT our notice. That is illegal I found out, in California especially. 2) The only issue I have is with upper management. I have seen management talk poorly towards many team members, scolding and criticizing behind the back of her Consultation Staff, other PCC's, the other doctors and nurses. management talks badly about so many employees and I don't understand why they stay. THEN I realize WHY some staff will stay, management hangs over each employee their VISA SPONSORSHIP. Very poor working conditions. The other reviews here mention that, then I realize how true those statements are about the poor working conditions for the employees. When it comes to the doctors at Wave upper management will talk badly behind their backs. During our morning huddle meetings, when management was present, management would say very rude things about the doctors. There is so much toxic negative energy from her that drives the chaos around the entire company. 3) A Receptionist as "Operations Management?" I found out ops management used to be a receptionist, so I'm not sure how management became in charge of every employee in the clinics, but when management is present for our morning huddle at the clinics, management speaks in Chinese behind the backs of people who do not speak Chinese. This is unprofessional & rude. Extremely inappropriate behavior. I also found out that ops management secretly records meetings as well - in person & phone calls - again which is against the law in California. The way operations talks to employees is an exact mirror of upper management - the apple doesn't fall far from the tree I guess. 4) Everything is an emergency at Wave. EVERYTHING. There seems to be no overall business plan that the company follows. I thought we had a marketing department - I guess we don't. Or they are not on top of it. Every request from management is a BARK and an ORDER and there is no thought or plan behind any of the requests. When there is an issue with a patient that is not happy, management or operations will get involved and it typically turns out to make the patient even more angry. Then the patient writes a bad review on Yelp and then we hear about it all over again. Operations and Management are very confused why the patient is angry, yet they were the ones involved in that conversation. It's just a big mess. 5) The outcomes of patients the I have seen at Wave are generally good. Our sales team tries hard to convert patients into paying patients, but from what I've seen at the front desk, there is always a billing issue or miscommunication between the patient & our sales team. This causes more chaos around the front desk and other patients and staff see this chaos and it just adds to an environment that is not comfortable to work in. Many employees still keep in touch with me to let me know that NOTHING has changed. I feel bad for my ex-employee friends but I'm so much happier since I've left Wave and my only regret was that I should have left sooner. The toxic negative management and energy that exists there starts at the top, and trickles down to other management. It's just a bad place to work. Period.

Pros

Wave represents what I wish to see within the healthcare system. After working there, I noticed that there is excellent cross team communication and dynamic. Many of the individuals I have interacted with have been working with Wave for so many years, which I felt was a clear sign of a good employer and employee environment. Everyone there constantly uplifts each other and it is overall a friendly environment. Management is very clear about feedback and opportunities to grow, which is something I appreciated as someone who values self-growth and career progression.
