Pros
The owner of the company is great. He's very down to earth and super involved in making it a great place for the employee. You do get the feeling you are being well taken care of and that you matter to the company. The other management staff are also highly educated and very knowledgeable in their roles and are concerned with the growth and development of the staff.
Wayne Media is a smaller company, which made it easy to get to know everyone and build real working relationships. It created a very personalized work experience for me where I didn't feel like just a number. I truly felt valued in the work I did.
It’s a great place for people who want to grow. The company encouraged cross-training between departments, I worked closely with other teams, so I gained a good understanding of the entire operation. During my time there I saw many employees that were promoted and moved up within the company. There was a real commitment to promoting from within.
Culture is one of the company’s biggest strengths. The values are well thought out and genuinely followed. We operated under the EOS system, which keeps things structured, organized, and goal-oriented. I had regular meetings with my direct manager or director, along with semi-annual reviews. I liked this as it made sure I always knew how I was doing.
Work/life balance is clearly a priority. There’s a generous vacation and holiday package, one work-from-home day per week, and even early release on Fridays during the summer. They’re very understanding when you need time off. The environment is busy, but in a good way, it makes the days go by quickly.
Benefits are solid. Health plans are competitive, and the 401k match was a real benefit to me. The company also held team gatherings and events that helped strengthen team relationships.
Most of the roles are client-facing, which made the work meaningful. I got to build relationships and directly help clients and their businesses succeed. I felt there was a real sense of purpose in the work I did.
Cons
This is a fast-moving company that works hard to stay current with technology and industry trends. Because of that, systems and procedures can sometimes change quickly. At times it felt like new processes were rolled out before everything was fully refined. however adjustments were made quickly, and improvements followed. It was clear the goal was always to provide the best and most up-to-date service for clients.
