Pros

I have been with different companies as remote staff and I haven't meet employers who are very considerate and kind as them. I never felt out of place as they considered me as part of the team not just an employee.

Cons

Nothing,it's a great start up company and I'm proud of it.

Pros

Great leadership, great culture, and your voice is always heard!

Cons

No cons really, just that it was a start up so we had to face many obstacles (which were amazing to learn and grow from)

Pros

WeVue is a great place to work if you’re a developer who likes to own an entire platform (iOS app, Android app, server stack, etc.) As the sole developer of an app, the company relies on you (and places a lot of trust in you), and you have the flexibility of designing the app the way you want. Although the company has been around for almost 3 years, everyone here still considers it to be a start up. Based on my experience at WeVue, everyone gets to have significant and meaningful input in the production direction, even some on the UI and UX side, although secondary to UI and UX designers. (The company is rather small right now, so perhaps that will change when it gets larger.) Along those lines, not long ago, the company pivoted from being centered around a consumer-focused event-based app (which at the time was iOS only) to its new focus on corporate culture. Some of the features in the pipeline (with the corporate culture direction) are much more interesting (than the consumer based direction) and from a developer's perspective, raise new technical challenges and should be fun and rewarding. It seems like the company believes in promoting from within (although with the current team size the occasion hasn't yet arisen), so as the company grows, there are probably good career opportunities. Current team is rather small, tipped on the young side (energetic, fun to be around). Although young, the CEO is probably the most well-read guy I’ve met. CTO is a bit older (did I just say that?), and has a lot of start-up as well as technical experience. There is some flexibility in the work hours. (They value productivity over driving in rush hour.) The company uses its own sort of agile methodology.

Cons

The company does re-assess itself often and that can result in changes in the near term tasks at hand. So if you’re the type that likes the 6+ month waterfall type projects and the directional certainty that comes with them (and there’s something to be said for that), this is probably not the place for you. Similarly, if you're the type who likes to be on a maintenance team, this isn't the place. The company used to be located at the Tampa Bay Wave (which houses many startups, so you’re surrounded by tons of other developers). It relocated to a smaller office and so if you want to bounce ideas off (and get ideas from) other developers working on the same platform (iOS, Android, etc.) they’re more than a 30 foot walk away.
