Pros

Smart and generous Divisional Directors. A few who are an absolute pleasure working with. Get to work in an established and growing firm

Cons

Terrible senior management: The senior management team talks a good game and delivers almost none of it. Manager promised training and resources but neither showed up. You're told to "ask questions if you have any doubts," then get visibly and harshly shut down by the second one. So which is it? Because you can't dangle an open door and then slam it the moment someone walks through. Handing people tasks with zero context isn't "trusting them to figure it out", it's poor management dressed up as a sink-or-swim philosophy. There's a difference between throwing someone in the deep end and tying a weight to their ankles first. One builds people. The other sets them up to fail and then blames them for failing. Communication standards of the finance team is very poor and incomprehensible at times.

Pros

I’ve really enjoyed my time so far at Welbeck. From the start, I felt welcomed and supported. The onboarding was smooth, and people were generous with their time when I had questions. It didn’t take long to feel like part of the team. What stands out most is the culture. People are approachable, down-to-earth, and willing to help each other out. Leadership is open and communicative. You understand what’s expected of you, and feedback is constructive rather than critical. When things get busy (and they do), there’s a real sense of pulling together rather than pointing fingers. There are also genuine opportunities to grow. If you show initiative and want to take on more, it’s noticed. I’ve learned a lot and felt trusted to take ownership of my work.

Cons

Like any organisation, there are busy periods and ambitious targets, but the environment is supportive and solutions-focused. Overall, it’s a company where you can build meaningful experience, contribute strategically, and feel valued for the work you do.
