Do not work here if you care about children - Teachers' Aide Wellspring Educational Services Employee Review

Pros

Most employees are nice to work with.

Cons

The management seemed afraid to some employees so they allowed inappropriate conduct to continue. Children were not taught, just allowed to do whatever they wanted. Seemed to be doing more harm that good to the children.

Pros

The relationships that you make with the kids are wonderful and can make some days really fun. You can really see the difference that you're making with them and feel proud when they make progress! Coworkers are awesome and always willing to help out. Admin tries to provide as much training and support as possible. I think this is a great place to work if you're wondering if you would like a career in special ed teaching,

Cons

Some days are very stressful and can wear you down. You are assigned to one kid for all or most of the day and if that kid is having a bad day, so are you. Even though I was CPI trained, there were some days that I felt unsafe because of how violent some kids were (hitting, kicking, biting, pulling hair, etc). Some kids are also very verbally abusive and you need to have a tough skin or things they say will bother you. Sometimes the mood can change very suddenly and you need to be on your toes and ready for anything.
