Pros
Some managers are nice and will treat lunch
Company bonding trip / CNY events
“Family culture”
Nearby have pretty good food and decent variety (walking distance)
Everyone is nice and friendly (until they are not)
Cons
Low salary
Salary increment is just 1-2% (not subjected to every year)
Bad training and guidance
Benefits are bare minimum
Steep learning curve and expected to learn quickly
No career progression, no clear path
Top management are blood-related, bound to have office politics and also the contributing reason of no career progression
Bosses gaslights employees and have no values, forces / brainwash their “values” to you
Bad work culture for example treating food/ drinks for team if slightly late for work as a deterrence or fun punishment
Company overseas bonding trip but have to deduct personal AL for the trip; if opt out will have to continue working in Singapore office
Micromanagement
>> Strictly no work from home
>> Unspoken rule but strict lunch time
>> Strict on leaves and MC as well, would not reflect well if Annual Leave is finished and take Unpaid Leave due to unforeseen circumstances (employee’s entitlement)
>> In the case where employees takes Unpaid leave, there will be feedback from management saying that the yearly attendance is bad
>> Pressured to not take MC hence going to work sick and virus passed around easily in office
Office
>> Dirty office chair that might cause skin issues
>> Water dispenser breaks down from time to time
>> Unable to control temperature of the office, either too hot or too cold (wear gloves while working because it is freezing)
