Pros
If you are deeply entrenched and interested in education policy this is a good place to make connections and pursue this very specific subject matter. Agency is well respected in this area, less so in other practice areas. The staff at VP level and below are top-notch-- very smart, motivated and competent-- and for the most part also very friendly, helpful and professional.
Cons
There is a lack of consistent senior leadership and the various equity partners/principals don't seem to get along well which sets the tone for the agency. Huge focus on new business, billable hours and the company's bottom line, above all else (all agencies are like this to some degree but this was excessive). They want you to zero in on these issues but the bonuses are meager, there is no profit sharing or even 401K match so there is not much incentive to do so. I would rather focus on current client work vs. having to constantly feel concerned about signing up more. Phoney rah-rah environment but not a whole lot of genuine appreciation or support for employees.
