Pros

The pay was alright, not great for what you deal with but it was fine.

Cons

Walking on eggshells. Its hard work, long hours and little appreciation for going above and beyond. No motivation to stay or to work harder for them.

Willmer Engineering Response

First, please accept our apology for the delayed response. Your feedback is appreciated. There's no question that working for an engineering firm is going to be hard work and challenging to the core. Willmer is no exception. We remain solidly committed to our core values in our internal and external relationships. Integrity, commitment, and passion represent the company values that define our culture and the individuals who thrive and succeed in it. Also true is our commitment to 360-degree improvement as a professional services firm and employer. We're disappointed to learn of your experience. We do, however, want to address one of your specific concerns. No Willmer employee should feel they have to walk on eggshells. Management's door is and always has been open and confidentiality is respected. Further, we strive to maintain a positive atmosphere of professionalism among co-workers. We will look into the issue you've raised. Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

Supportive and knowledgeable team with great management that trusts employees, no micromanagement. Collaborative and positive work environment with coworkers who are always willing to help. Plenty of opportunities to learn, take on new challenges, and grow professionally. A great place to develop both technical and soft skills while working on meaningful projects.

Cons

The 401(k) match is a bit on the lower side (4%), and there are currently no profit-sharing or bonus programs.

Pros

Operates on a hybrid schedule.

Cons

- Past leadership seems to have run a well respected business however change in leadership has resulted in lack of direction for the company, lack of leadership skills among management, an unpleasant work environment, and a decline in company standards. Doris Willmer is no longer CEO. - Management/leadership is regularly politically incorrect, inappropriate, and manipulates employees to distort the truth and undermine confidence. - Leadership is quick to terminate employees who are "not meeting expectations", however this is a tactic to pass blame to cover the mistakes of management. - Many do not take accountability or ownership over work, and poor management results in regularly late deliverables to unhappy clients. - Human Resources department is outsourced, unreliable, incompetent and lazy. - Lacks resources, guidance, and HR guardrails that legitimate firms provide. - Minimal guidance or training provided.
