Pros

working with the company the crews i worked with had an established highest retain dependability track record, as our store was the PACNW most busiest store with the most inventory stocked nightly, now that came with its own unique set of challenges maintaining and cleaning a store that does not close its doors to the public and is open 24/7 364 days a year, but never the less it was a true pleasure working there

Cons

the upper management did do arm chair micro managing from California headquarters where i was to call in wax charts and schedule employee schedules nightly, and call in weekly inventory requests to be filled, most of which were on back order for up to 2-3 months and were behind by 6 months on back order when i started, that is not where a new manager wants to start out at taking over for a store lead in one of Portland's largest and busiest store, along with the above, the crew had a sense of standing about and chatting the night away and collect a paycheck with no work put into the company which we had a contract with in this case Winco, my company was contracted maintenance DCS, or Delta Cleaning Services, when i started everyone management being myself and my second lead had 40 hours a week with 5-6 crew members also at 36hours each a week, 2 weeks after i took over as store lead, Management in California decided to put all of non management staff on rotating hours no one under management staff worked more then 3-4 hours each night, which was a staffing nightmare our schedule started at 11PM and went to 8:30 AM we had 6 members coming in each night one due to work 12am to 3am his relief would work 3 am to 5 am and his relief would work 5am to 7 am and his relief would work 7am to 8:30 am with a jump shift employee to work restroom detail from 5AM to 7AM and a Call in back up employee to work the meat room from 10pm to 2AM ...now my job was to set the schedule and work my 9 hours 6 days a week, since i was store lead i had one job over everyone else, Waxing of the floors nightly which entailed stripping scrubbing resealing and waxing and high buffing every night strip of flooring 9' wide by 80 feet long, in a store that never closed i could not take scheduled breaks till the wax was cured as it was a slip hazard to customers who would often try and get down an isle the moment you looked away, so if an employee didn't make their schedule i wouldn't know about it till almost 6 hours into a shift
