Pros

If you already live in Johnstown or the surrounding area this is the only company that does any biological research. So if that is what you want to do as a career and you need to stay local this is really the only opportunity to do that.

Cons

Funding is indefinite at the best of times. If you like to stay busy, you'll be bored out of your mind. And upper management all hates each other with a passion so no one will work together no matter what they tell you about collaborations when you first start.

Pros

The pay here is higher than they should be, especially for a company in a small town. For that reason and only that reason, if you want to live in the Johnstown/somerset region, it would be hard to quit because no where else can you make that kind of money.

Cons

Salaries are good but benefits almost entirely missing with a horrible health care plan. Leadership is entirely missing. The CEO is allergic to verbs and will tell a lot of jokes but is waiting for the fairies to come in and save the place. The billionaire benefactor who supposedly bought the place is no where to be seen and is likely to pull out as soon as possible. The work ethic is terrible with most of the technical staff members lunching from 12:00-1:20 plus two 1/2 hour breaks and the older staff members spend about 5 hours/day talking.
