Pros

Prior to the economic crash you could make quite a bit of money from commission. If you could find your groove and avoid owner you would pretty much be left alone to do your job and not be bothered.

Cons

All things start and end with ownership there which is not a good thing. Just before 08 plans were in place to move production to Mexico, because of the crash that never happened but all in-house design work was eventually sent to the Philippines. The company's general philosophy was to undercut all competition's cost rather than to best them in quality. The economic crash was handled very poorly, the workers that didn't get let go in the first wave were forced to take a mandatory pay cut (%15 at the high range). When things did start to turn around and more orders were coming in ownership still continued to pay the same reduced rates long after it was necessary. Workers were also burdened with having to do double or triple the work to make up for those that had been let go. Overseas designers which now make up the entirety of the design dept are paid a fraction of what the American designers once were.
