Pros

I would only recommend it for a person interested in project management or an on-site assignment. The company seems to highly value project managers as opposed to discipline engineers. Wink has active groups of onsite employees at several of the local refineries, and many of these assignments have lead to good direct positions.

Cons

For an engineer more interested in the technical path, you will not be a valued employee here. Furthermore, for over 18 months salaries have been frozen, more than half the company has been laid off, and the remaining employees are frequently sent home on forced vacation (or unpaid leave if you have run out.)

Pros

Competitive pay and benefits.. Manages downturns as well as can be hoped. Through multiple acquisitions company has kept its identity and maintained a core base of clients.

Cons

As with most mid-sized firms, communication can leave you wanting more. It would be nice if there were more opportunities to grow and learn outside your direct position.
